Kids Ministry

WESTkids

At West Evangelical Free Church, we provide a safe, age‑appropriate environment where children from infants through elementary can learn about who God is, connect with caring leaders, and begin building a lasting faith.

Discipleship for Kids

Intentionally Building
& Passionately Pursuing

We provide a safe environment for developing lasting faith for infants through elementary school.
We want to intentionally build disciples who can say:

I believe in Jesus.

I am becoming more like Him.

I belong to Him forever.

First Time Guests

We are ready to serve your family and help your child get settled into WESTkids.  On your first Sunday, you will check in at our Kids Ministry-managed Check-In Station.  We will ask for contact information, birthdates, and any allergies of your child.  Safety is VERY important for our program! You will be given a name tag for your child and a pick-up tag with a security code that matches your child’s name tag.  One of our Welcome Team members will gladly help you find the class location, assist you with the drop-off process, and explain the pick-up process.

What if I lose the pick-up tag for my child?

If you lose the pick-up tag with security code, you can open up the church app and find it there or the group leader will ask you to visit the check-in desk for verification to pick up your child. Good idea: if you don't have our church app, some of our parents take pictures of their tags, which is totally okay to use for pickup.

What if my child needs me?

If your child should need you during programming, we will text you via the parent cell phone number given at registration.

Are there resources to help me follow up on what my child is learning?

We’re so glad you asked! Many times, you will be given resources upon pickup to help guide you as parents.  We will also have resources available that are printed for you.  We also communicate with parents through email and social media.

Who will teach my child?

We have the most amazing leaders! These groups are led by committed leaders who are committed to helping your child have the best morning of their week. Our policies require every group to have at least two leaders. Each leader has also undergone a background check and training for their role in WESTkids. We want every parent to feel an overwhelming assurance that their child is safe and loved while at WESTkids!

Sunday Ministries

Sunday Morning Kids Ministry

Nursery

Birth - 3 years & those not potty-trained

We desire to ensure a safe and loving environment for infants and children to learn about the God who created them, while you enjoy peace of mind as you worship, learn, and grow spiritually. Our nursery is so much more than childcare; we follow the Brite* Curriculum designed specifically for this age, which aligns with our preschool and elementary age curriculum. We provide care during both the 9:30 and 11:00 service times. We will promote potty-trained kids quarterly into our preschool environment.

What to Bring: A diaper for toddlers and a diaper/diaper bag for babies. We provide the wipes.

Nursing Mothers’ Room: If you need access to the Nursing Room, please see the Nursery Check-In for access.

WESTkids

Preschool - 5th grade

9:30 Service:
Preschool - 5th Grade
We use Brite* Curriculum
Kids will have a different theme each month. They will learn the full story of the Bible, not just Bible stories. Each passage and character gets connected to God's bigger picture from the Old Testament to the New Testament. In every lesson, the Bible is read, heard, and connected to Jesus in ways kids can understand in their own lives. Leaders are equipped to help kids form a faith built to navigate tough cultural topics.

We have a great crew of Disciplers who are intentionally working with your kids to say:

I believe in Jesus.
I am becoming more like Him.
I belong to Him forever

11:00 Service:
Preschool - 2nd Grade
Preschool and Kinder will repeat the Brite* Curriculum
Elementary has a combined experience for 1st & 2nd Grade

Serve With Us

Serve in WESTkids

We believe God has called every parent to be the primary spiritual leader in their child’s life.  But we know every parent would love some help on that journey!  WESTkids is a great place to serve!  We have many opportunities for students and adults to share the love of Jesus with kids of all ages.

*Students must be 14 or older to serve with WESTkids
